Adding a New Task

This guide walks you through the process of adding a new task to the OneClickWorker platform.

Accessing the Task Creation Form

  1. Log in to your OneClickWorker account at https://app.oneclickworker.com/
  2. Navigate to the Tasks section from the main navigation menu
  3. Click the "Add Task" button in the top right corner of the tasks page

You can also add a task directly from a specific column in the Kanban board view by clicking the "+" icon in the column header.

Completing the Task Information Form

The task creation form contains several fields for entering task information:

Field Details

Task Title

Enter a clear, concise title that describes the task. This will be displayed in the task board and list views.

Status

Select the current status of the task:

  • To Do: Tasks that have not been started
  • In Progress: Tasks that are currently being worked on
  • Done: Completed tasks

Due Date

Select the date and time when the task should be completed. This field uses a date-time picker to select both date and time.

People

Select the person who will be responsible for completing the task. This dropdown shows all users in the system.

Client

Select a client associated with this task. This helps organize tasks by client.

Job

Select a job associated with this task. Jobs may display their fee amount if available.

Priority

Select the importance level of the task:

  • High: Urgent tasks that require immediate attention
  • Medium: Important tasks that should be completed soon
  • Low: Tasks that can be completed when time allows

Tags

Add keywords to categorize your task. To add a tag:

  1. Type the tag name in the input field
  2. Press Enter or Return to add it
  3. The tag will appear below the input field
  4. To remove a tag, click the "×" button next to it

Description

Enter a detailed description of the task, including any relevant information that will help the assignee understand what needs to be done.

Subtasks

Break down the task into smaller, manageable steps:

  1. Type the subtask description in the input field
  2. Press Enter or Return to add it
  3. The subtask will appear below with a checkbox
  4. Check the box when the subtask is completed
  5. To remove a subtask, click the "×" button next to it

Attachments

Upload files related to the task:

  1. Click "Upload a file" to select files from your computer
  2. Selected files will be listed below
  3. To remove an attachment, click the "×" button next to it

Comments

Add notes or communication about the task:

  1. Type your comment in the input field
  2. Click "Add" or press Enter to post the comment
  3. Comments will be displayed with your name and timestamp

Saving the Task

  1. Review all entered information for accuracy
  2. Click the "Save Task" button at the bottom of the form
  3. The task will be added to the appropriate column based on its status
  4. If you want to cancel the task creation, click the "Cancel" button

Tips for Adding Tasks

  • Be Specific: Write clear task titles and descriptions to ensure everyone understands what needs to be done
  • Set Realistic Deadlines: Consider the workload and complexity when setting due dates
  • Use Tags Effectively: Create consistent tags to help with filtering and organizing tasks
  • Break Down Complex Tasks: Use subtasks to divide larger tasks into manageable pieces
  • Assign Appropriately: Make sure tasks are assigned to the right person
