Applying for Jobs Guide

NOTE: Candidates can apply for jobs with or without creating an OCW account. Virtual interviews may be required as part of the process.

How to Apply for Jobs

Candidates can apply for jobs in two ways:

Apply with an OCW Account

  • Create a free OCW account and enter your résumé information.
  • (Optional) Complete a psychometric test and view your result for free.
  • Browse all public job listings or use a direct link to a specific job.
  • To apply: Optionally enter information in the cover letter section, then click Apply.
  • Your résumé will be automatically sent to the recruiter.

Apply without an Account

  • You can apply for a job without creating an OCW account or signing up.
  • You must enter your name, email, and phone number.
  • Upload your résumé and (optionally) enter text in the cover letter section.
  • If your résumé is a PDF, doc, or docx file, it will be parsed and viewable in the job application cards for the relevant job.

Virtual Interview Invitations

  • If you are invited to a virtual interview, you will receive an email notification with a deadline date set by the recruiter.
  • The email will contain a link to complete the virtual interview.
  • If you applied through your OCW account, you will also see a badge on your job application card inviting you to the interview. Click the badge to start.

Virtual Interview Types

All virtual interviews involve recording a video and generating a transcript. The recruiter selects the interview type; candidates cannot change it.

Text Interviewer

  • Presents text questions on screen.
  • Click Record to start. Read and answer each question in order.
  • Continue until all questions are answered.

AI Audio Interviewer

  • Conducts a live interview with a lifelike human audio interviewer.
  • Click Record to start. It may take 30–60 seconds for the AI audio to begin.
  • If it takes longer, refresh the page and wait up to 60 seconds again.
  • If the interviewer asks how it can help, state you are there for a job interview and provide the job title.
  • Do not start unrelated conversations with the AI.

AI Video Interviewer

  • Conducts a live interview with a lifelike human avatar.
  • Click Record to start. It may take 30–60 seconds for the AI avatar to begin.
  • If it takes longer, refresh the page and wait up to 60 seconds again.
  • If the interviewer asks how it can help, state you are there for a job interview and provide the job title.
  • Do not start unrelated conversations with the AI.
